Casualty of WWII, Lewis was a Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Serial No.75379. He was aged 32. He was Master of Arts-Cambridge.[M.A. (Cantab).]

 

 

He was the son of Lewis Lawrance and Louisa Eleanor Godden, of East Malling, Kent, England, and it is on their grave in the churchyard at East Malling that he is remembered.

They lost their son to WWII; he was Squadron Leader Lewis Iden Godden, M.A. (Cantab)- Service No:75379,aged 32. He was killed in action with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in South Africa on September 10th 1942 and is buried in Thaba Tshwane (New) Military Cemetery, Grave 233.
